Ceramics based on beryllium oxide have unique physical and chemical properties that combine strong chemical, thermal, radiation resistance, thermal conductivity, transparency to vacuum ultraviolet, visible, infrared, X-ray, and super high frequency radiation, making it a promising material for use in electronics, new areas of technology, and special instrument making.

Applications of beryllium oxide ceramics

BeO ceramics are currently widely used in the electronics industry to dissipate heat generated during the operation of functional electronic components. High thermal conductivity, low dielectric loss, high dielectrical strength, and high stability of electrophysical properties allow the application of BeO ceramics in high-frequency electronic circuits. High thermal conductivity (about 330 W/mK) and electrical resistance allow the use of ceramics in powerful and highly reliable resistors, transistors and microcircuits as ideal substrates for creating super high frequency devices. Low dielectric permittivity and insignificant dielectric losses characterize the BeO ceramic as one of the best materials for caps and windows for the output of powerful super high frequency radiation.
